COLUMBUS

Dick’s Den. 2417 N High St. Tel: 614.268.9573 [one of the city’s main and longstanding jazz venues. In existence since the 1960?s, Dick’s Den provides live music and primarily jazz 7 nights a week. This is where the regulars go in Columbus and most nights you will find local jazz musicians hanging out here until the bar closes around 2AM. You will find great live jazz here any night of the week.]

DAYTON

Gilly's has a long history as one of the few places in Ohio where a fan can see major acts, such as Elvin Jones, Steve Morse, or Wayne Shorter, in an intimate club setting. Proprietor Jerry Gillotti is a true jazz fan - the entrance is plastered with pictures of him with many of the legends of the last 30 years - and also likes to give the best local talent (not always jazz!) exposure, either on their own or as opening acts for the big names.
